Windows 10 Impressions

Microsoft's new operating system allways brings hype and after the shambles of windows 8 Microsoft has announced windows 10 ( not windows 9 because there would be problems with the legacy editions ) a few weeks back and launched a public beta program and they have stressed that this is not finished software and it is only to try so if you want to try it put it on a partition hard drive or external drive of what I did, virtualise it on to a virtual machine so after installing it and logging in the first change you will find is that the start screen has gone and has been replaced by the old start menu that is so much simpler. The next change is the new My Computer/ This PC icons have changed to a 2D effect instead of the previous 3D effect found on Vista ,7 ,8 & 8.1. Another feature will be that the search button is now right next to the start button and it's basically the same as Spotlight search on Mac OS X Yosmite. Next to this search button there is a new feature called task view that lets you have multiple desktops with different windows open on it a feature that has been in OS X for years. Other features include a new four window snap instead of a two window snap, a metro area on the side of the start menu with live tiles on it for the people who like it and metro apps don't open in full screen so no more pulling down the top to shut the window and the charms bar has gone. So what do I think well lots of it's features are either from old versions of windows or from OS X and all the folder icons and recycle bin icons need to be updated but overall I'm very happy with this new OS as it seems a really solid so role on 2015 when windows 10 comes out fully finished and well really see how good it is.
